HONK has an opening for a Homes for All AmeriCorps Member in Construction.  This is a full-time volunteer service role at HONK, thanks to our partnership with the Homeless & Housing Coalition of Kentucky.  The Homes for All AmeriCorps Member will help build, rehabilitate and repair homes to assist HONK in its mission to help low-income families and individuals reach the goal of stable homeownership through programs of education and support.

The Homes for All AmeriCorps Member will receive a small living allowance (estimated at $1,050/mo.) and have an opportunity for basic health care during their year of service with HONK.  They will also receive an education award of $5,815 when they have completed the program that can be used toward the payment of student loans.  The education award can also be passed on to children or grandchildren.

This is a full-time one-year commitment starting September 1, 2017.  Background check, drug screen, and valid driver’s license required.  Those interested should contact David Hastings by email at dhastings@honkhomes.org  or phone at (859) 581-4665.

It is best to contact us first to discuss the opportunity before applying. If you are getting anxious, however, the application is available through our partner’s website in providing this opportunity, the Homeless & Housing Coalition of Kentucky.
